Innovations in Nursing Practice and Healthcare Management for Enhancing Quality of Patient Care
Main Article Content
Abstract
Improving patient-care quality requires coordinated innovation in nursing practice and healthcare management. This article synthesizes evidence-informed approaches that strengthen safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience through nurse-led models of care, digital workflows, quality improvement (QI) methods, and leadership strategies. Key innovations include structured bedside communication, standardized care pathways, clinical decision support, tele-nursing follow-up, and competency-based workforce development. From a management perspective, outcomes improve when staffing is optimized, interprofessional teamwork is supported, and data are used to monitor performance and guide rapid-cycle change. The paper proposes an integrated framework linking nursing innovations to measurable quality indicators—such as medication safety, patient satisfaction, readmissions, infection rates, and timeliness of care—while emphasizing ethical practice, equity, and sustainability in resource-constrained settings.
